International Partner Week

Copenhagen University College of Engineering (IHK) invites all partners to our International Partner Week from 4 – 8 April 2011.

Copenhagen University College of Engineering is pleased to have the opportunity to welcome colleagues from all of our partner institutions; newcomers and established partners alike may attend our International Partner Week in April, 2011.


The theme of the IPW 2011 is SUSTAINABILITY, and professors and teachers are invited to give lectures during the week. In parallel we have a programme for administrative staff as well as for librarians during the week.

IHK is looking forward to seeing you in April, 2011.

Programme

Professors, teachers, librarians and administrative staff will have the option of meeting with IHK colleagues as well as with their students at IHK while they are here.

They are invited to present their home university to IHK and the Danish students. This will take place on Wednesday 6 April 2011 at our International Forum.

There will be different joint arrangements throughout the week at IHK and in the beautiful city of Copenhagen.

PS. European partners may consider this week as an option within the framework of the Erasmus LLP Programme.

 

Registration

Please register for the IHK International Partner Week (IPW) before 27 March 2011.

As part of the on line registration you can choose to register for your accommodation in Copenhagen.

You will receive your confirmation on e-mail upon successful registration.

It is your personal responsibility that all details such as address, booked events, number of tickets, hotel reservation, date of arrival and departure, etc. are in accordance to your wishes. We therefore strongly recommend that you read and check the letter of confirmation of registration carefully to avoid errors. Accomodation

Participants who want to book hotel accommodation should indicate the preferred hotel on the IPW registration form.

If for some reason it is more convenient for you to book the hotel room after having registered for the International Partner Week it is still possible to book and achieve the favourable IPW rate.

Hotels

Participants who wish to book hotel accommodation should indicate the preferred hotel on the online reservation form in the registration.


Grand Hotel***
Grand Hotel is a modern but classical three-star hotel located in the heart of Copenhagen close to the Central Station, Tivoli Gardens and the pedestrian street, Strøget. Grand Hotel has 161 tastefully decorated rooms in light and calming colours, all renovated in 2006. All the rooms have wireless internet. The hotel's restaurant, Ristorante Frascati, serves the best of the original Italian cuisine in a stylish and informal atmosphere.
Price: Single DKK 820/Double DKK 1,020 per room per night.

Cab Inn City**
The hotel is located just behind Tivoli Gardens in the heart of Copenhagen. All 350 rooms have private bath, toilet, television, telephone and an electric kettle with free tea and coffee. All standard rooms have bunk beds. Rooms are available especially for wheelchair users. 24 -hour reception. The hotel has a breakfast restaurant and its own parking facilities.
Price: Single DKK 545/Double DKK 675 per room per night.

 

Deposit, cancellation and changes

Reservations of hotel rooms must be backed up by a deposit payment. The deposit serves as a guarantee to the hotel for the first night and will be deducted from the participants’ hotel bill upon check-out.

In case of cancellation or changes: Before 1 March 2011 the deposit will be refunded. Between 1 March and 18 March, the deposit will only be refunded if DIS Congress Service is able to allocate the room to another guest. After 18 March 2011 no refund of hotel deposit will be made.

Please note that all hotels are legally authorized to charge the entire stay as booked by the customer also in case of no-show or early departure. All changes must be made to DIS Congress Service in writing and not to the hotel at

Payment of hotel deposit must be made in Danish Kroner (DKK) to the order of Copenhagen University College of Engineering, c/o DIS Congress Service and remitted as follows:

Important: Please remember to state Copenhagen University College of Engineering and participant’s full name on all money transfers to the IPW Secretariat.

Participants are recommended to arrange for their personal travel and health insurance.

This summer there will be no Summer School Programme. The exchange semesters European Project Semester (EPS) and International Design Semester (IDS) are cancelled as well in the fall semester 2013.
